Blotter: Towel Fight Gets Nasty; Marijuana, Alcohol Charges at College

The following incidents are among the official reports of the Lake Forest and Lake Bluff police departments. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.
An officer responded to the 300 block of Signa Court at 10:06 a.m. April 26 and took possession of a male Chihuahua that the homeowner captured. The dog was wearing a black collar with no tags and was transported to the Knollwood Animal Hospital.
An officer responded to the 400 block of East Prospect Avenue for a report at 9:50 a.m. April 25 from a homeowner who believes someone was tampering with her vehicle. The vehicle owner said the alarm in her car went off at 10 p.m. the night before. She and her husband looked outside and saw a white, possibly Ford Escape, parked in front of the house and then a red car behind the Ford. Both vehicles left. There was no sign of forced entry and nothing was taken. The car was locked, but the driver’s door was ajar.
Complainant came to the Public Safety Building at 10:45 a.m. April 23 to report someone keyed his car in the Dominick's parking lot, 201 S. Waukegan Road, between 9:45 a.m. and 10:06 a.m. April 23. The car was keyed on the rear of the 2005 Honda Odyssey. A repair cost was unknown.
Peter J. Norman, 29659 Bayshore Drive, Lake Bluff, was charged with theft of an iPhone 4 cellphone at 12:25 p.m. March 21 in the 1200 block of McKinley Road. He was released on a personal recognizance bond pending a June 5 court date in Park City.
Michel E. Stark, 48, 525 Douglas Drive, Lake Forest, was charged with simple battery at 7:30 p.m. April 14 in the 400 block of Hastings Road. Stark had a disagreement with another person at the Lake Forest Recreation Center, threw a towel and hit the victim in the face. He was assigned an administrative hearing May 9 at Lake Forest City Hall.
Minor Consumption of Alcohol, Social Hosting
Chelsea A. Hargitt, 18, 1244 Wild Rose Lane, Lake Forest, was charged with minor consumption of alcohol and social hosting at 8 p.m. April 14 in the 1200 block of Wild Rose Lane. Two other Lake Forest juveniles, ages 16 and 17, also were charged with minor consumption of alcohol. Police were called after one of the juveniles passed out from drinking alcohol. The two juveniles were released to the custody of their parents. Each was assigned an administrative hearing May 9 at Lake Forest City Hall.
Joseph B. Blake, 18, 980 Buena Road, Lake Forest, was charged with minor consumption and possession of alcohol at 11:55 a.m. April 14 near Rosemary and Washington roads. He was assigned to an administrative hearing May 9 at Lake Forest City Hall.
Connor Simms, 18, 617 E. Illinois Road, Lake Forest, and Trenton F. Wildman, 19, 656 Grandview Lane, Lake Forest, were each charged with minor consumption of alcohol at 12:10 a.m. April 14 in the 500 block of Sheridan Road. Simms and Wildman also were issued trespass warnings for being on the Lake Forest College campus. They were assigned an administrative hearing May 9 at Lake Forest City Hall.
David Grannis, 19, 817 Voss Ave., Duluth, Minn., was charged with minor consumption of alcohol at 2:48 a.m. April 14 in the 500 block of Sheridan Road. Lake Forest College Security called for assistance with a person younger than age 21 who had consumed alcohol. Grannis was assigned an administrative hearing May 9 at Lake Forest City Hall.
Possession of Marijuana, Trespass Warning
Christopher T. Johnson, 28, 1020 Flossmoor Ave., Waukegan, was charged with possession of marijuana and issued a trespass warning at 12:10 a.m. April 21 in the 500 block of Sheridan Road. Lake Forest College Security received a complaint of people smoking marijuana. Johnson was observed by college security smoking a marijuana cigarette. He also possessed not more than 2.5 grams of a substance containing marijuana. Johnson posted a $120 bond pending a June 5 court date in Park City.
