After 3,932 votes and more than 43 comments, we are pleased to announce the winner of the spirited Chowdown Showdown competition for best French fries in northern Lake County is Fodrak's in Libertyville!

Fodrak's received 2,509 votes, or 63 percent, to take first place. Scooters in Lake Bluff received 1,380 votes, or 35 percent, to take second place in our Reader's Choice poll.

The competition online was fast and furious as reader's shared their love of both restaurants.
