Dold Raises Nearly $1 Million for Reelection Bid

Freshman Congressman has $748,546 to run in newly drawn 10th District.

has raised nearly $1 million for his reelection campaign in the newly drawn 10th Congressional District, according to an announcement from his campaign Tuesday. 

Dold collected $541,330 for the quarter ending June 30, bringing his total fundraising to $931,535 during the current campaign reporting cycle. Dold collected $310,889 for the quarter ended March 31 and $79,316 last year after the election, according to reports filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC). 

He has $748,546 cash on hand.

"I am humbled by such an outpouring from the people of the 10th District,” Dold said. “Every day I strive to be an independent leader who takes their concerns to Washington and works tirelessly to find solutions.”

According to information obtained from Dold’s campaign, 87 percent of the money collected came from people living in the district.

Dold’s Kenilworth home is located in the reconfigured 9th Congressional District. 0th, which contains approximately 70 percent of his current constituents, rather than oppose 9th District

Schakowsky has yet to announce her second quarter fundraising totals. She raised $240,842 for the quarter ended March 31, according to her FEC report. No one has indicated an intention to run against her.

At this point three Democrats have declared their candidacy to run in March primary for the right to oppose Dold in the general election. The candidates are Waukegan community organizer , Deerfield management consultant and Wheeling attorney .

Schneider said Monday he raised $321,085 for the current quarter. Sheyman disclosed July 1 he collected nearly $110,000 for the same period. McKenzie has not reported financial information.

A fourth potential candidate, ) said she will decide whether she is running by Friday.
