Driver Runs Stop Sign, Arrested for Felony

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lake Bluff Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Driver’s License Infractions

Jacqueline Gallagher, 25, of Round Lake Heights was arrested Feb. 25 on a felony charge of driving with a revoked license and disobeying a stop sign, according to Lake Bluff Police reports

Gallagher was spotted driving through the stop sign at the intersection of Scranton and Center, according to the report. An investigation revealed her driver’s license was revoked. If a driver does that too many times, it is a felony.

Oscar Castillo-Brena, 45, of Zion was arrested Feb. 24 for driving without a valid driver’s license and speeding, according to Lake Bluff Police reports. Police clocked Castillo-Brena driving 83 miles per hour in a 55-mile-per-hour zone on Highway 41 near the northern Village limits. An investigation revealed he did not have a license. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 10:30 a.m. April 2 in Park City.

Erick Mendoza, 30, of Waukegan was arrested Feb. 23 for driving without a valid license, no real registration light and no insurance, according to Lake Bluff Police reports. After police stopped him on Highway 41 because his rear registration light was not illuminated, it turned out he did not have a license or insurance. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 10:30 a.m. in Park City.

DUI

Courtney Simon, 32, of Chicago was arrested Feb. 25 for driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, improper lane usage and driving an uninsured motor vehicle, according to Lake Bluff Police reports.

Police first observed Simon driving westbound on Highway 176 going into opposite lanes there as well as on West Washington Street and Highway 41 before being stopped near the south Village limits, according to the report. She was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 9 a.m. April 12.

Stanislaw Kasiarz, 61, of Chicago was arrested Feb. 23 for driving under the influence of alcohol, according to Lake Bluff Police reports.

Police observed a parked vehicle at 417 West Washington Street, investigated, determined Kasiarz was intoxicated and “in physical control of a parked vehicle”, according to the report. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 9 a.m. May 10 in Waukegan.
