1. Reaching New Heights with LEGO design: featuring LEGO artist Adam Reed Tucker
- Where/When: Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Historical Society, 361 E Westminster, Lake Forest, 2 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 22).
- Why Go?: Adam Reed Tucker, LEGO artist and architect will discuss his work designing LEGO kits of the world's most renowned buildings. He will also have some of his larger LEGO models on hand. Children are invited to bring in their own LEGO structures and compete for the most original, most complex and tallest structure.

2. Ladies Night Out at St. Patrick Church
- Where/When: St. Patrick Catholic Church, 991 S. Waukegan Road, Lake Forest; 5 p.m. Friday (Oct. 21).
- Why Go?: Shop for unique Christmas items while enjoying complimentary beverages and hors d’oeuvres. More than 25 vendors will donate 20 percent of their proceeds to charity.

3. Monte Carlo Carity Event to Benefit the Denis Savard Foundation
- Where/When: Lake Forest Sports Cars, 990 W. North Shore Drive, Lake Bluff; 6:30 p.m. Friday (Oct. 21).
- Why Go?: Enjoy a night of entertainment, music and gambling while you're elbow to elbow with hockey legends, Maseratis and Aston Martins. Complimentary food and wine provided by Southgate, Lovells, Philly G's, Coopers Hawk and others. Music by the Buckinghams.
- Pricing: $150
- Where/When: Gorton Community Center of Lake Forest, 400 E. Illinois Road, Lake Forest; 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday (Oct. 21-22), also 2 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 22).
- Why Go?: Community Capers is an evening of humor, music and dance featuring local talent performing original sketches . The show provides an entertaining perspective on life in our community.

- Why Go?: Citadel Theatre and Lake Forest Open Lands are again joining forces on a theatre trek for the whole family, staging the romantic true-life story of Edgar Allan Poe amidst the gorgeous fall backdrop of Lake Forest Open Lands’ Mellody Farm Nature Preserve.

6. 2nd Annual Knollwood 5K Race and Family Fun Run
- Where/When: 906 Muir Ave., Lake Bluff, Sunday, October 23, 08:00 a.m.
- Why Go?: Proceeds benefit The 100 Club of Lake County, an organization that assists families of fire and law enforcement personnel who die in the line of duty. 7. Lake Forest's Farmers' Market
- Where/When: City of Lake Forest, behind City Hall, just off Deerpath; 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 22).The final Lake Forest Farmer's Market is Oct. 29.
- Why Go?: Local farmers and specialty merchants sell local produce, seasonal fruits and vegetables, meat, poultry, dairy products, and more. Local chefs will sell a variety of treats like cupcakes, pies, cookies, dips, salsas, homemade granola, homemade marshmallows and more.
- Pricing: Free admission.
