Gun Found in Microwave, Woman Harasses Potential Employer
A look at weird crimes in the northern Chicago suburbs.
Local police departments provided the following reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt.
Deerfield police spotted a refrigerator on a hillside. Shortly afterward, police saw a car containing a 22-year-old Chicago man in the vicinity, approached him and he said he came to get the refrigerator, according to the report. He told police he worked at a nearby business as a janitor and the refrigerator was marked as trash.
The next day police learned from the company the refrigerator was not marked as trash but was, in fact, stolen.
They always say you want to stand out in a job interview
A Glenview business reported a harassing phone call from a woman who wanted a job.
A 24-year-old Elmhurst man drove his vehicle into a parked pickup truck in Des Plaines, police said. The owner of the second vehicle came out to see if the Elmhurst man was okay. After exchanging a few words, the owner of the hit vehicle said he was going to call the police. Police state that the first man then punched the other driver in the face and fled on foot. However, the suspect left behind his driver’s license.
Police later found the man lying on the ground a few blocks from the first incident. According to police, he smashed out the driver’s side window of a running vehicle in an attempt to flee, but was knocked out by the owner of that vehicle. Police charged him with driving under the influence of alcohol.
An interesting strategy for how to appear less drunk and obnoxious
An employee at a Glenview restaurant said an intoxicated man came in and attempted to order alcohol. When he was denied alcohol, the man became belligerent and dumped food on himself. After several requests the man left and was locked out, but started pounding on the door in an attempt to reenter.
Someone took the term 'packing heat' a little too literally
Police were dispatched to a Skokie hotel because a cleaning lady found a black .45 semiautomatic pistol inside a microwave in a hotel unit.

After reading these articles you've got to be absolutely desperate for news items,particularly the one sentence story about about an anonymous business getting a harassing phone call.

The government will likely now ban microwaves as part of gun control efforts. They want to smoke out the places where those guns are hiding.
