Welcome to North Shore Foodie Finds, where Patch showcases unusual eats available at restaurants around the North Shore.

This week, we're spotlighting a Highland Park sandwich that's so big, it's seemingly inedible. And that's not for a lack of trying. Real Urban Barbecue's Hungry Home Wrecker is a 7-pound sandwich with sliced Texas sausage, pulled pork, spicy pickles, a pint of cole slaw and a 10-inch bun. It's available for $30, or for free if you can finish the whole thing in 40 minutes.

So far, many have attempted to do this, and no one has succeeded. People have tried all sorts of tricks, from saving the bread for last to starting with the meat and bread and waiting till the end for the garnishings.

Patch documented one man's attempt at barbecue greatness in April. It wasn't pretty, and it wasn't even close. The brave soul who ordered it originally planned to pour water on the bread at the end to make it go down easier. He didn't make it that far.

Stay tuned for weekly looks at more odd eats around the lake shore. And if you have any suggestions for where we should go next, leave a comment below.
