Historical Photo: Intersection is McKinley Road and Scott Avenue
Weekly photo celebrates Lake Forest's sesquicentennial.
Thanks to everyone who took a guess at what intersection this was in Lake Forest, including Gail Hodges, Debbi Kiddle, Alice Moulton-Ely, and Bo Harper.
Many of your correctly guessed McKinley Road. The catch was the other street intersecting McKinley.
The intersection was McKinley Road and Scott Avenue looking north from Scott Avenue.
The year was 1923. The image comes from a collection of photographs about the 1923 rebuilding of McKinley Road along the North Shore Line, according to the Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Historical Society.
Thanks to everyone for making this 150th anniversary of Lake Forest so special.
We'll be back Sunday with another posting.
Thanks for your participation and feedback.

Looks like McKinley Road looking north where it intersects with Westminster Road. Maybe 1915?

Looks like McKinley Road looking north from the Westminster instersection, circa 1916-early/mid-1920s. Gas lights as shown, first fueled by kerosene, were installed in 1916.

I agree with Mckinley looking north from Westminster but have no idea what year!
