The first story told of the Seabird - a ship that set fire on Lake Michigan near the shores of Lake Bluff in 1868, killing over 100 people on board.
The Lake Bluff Orphanage, which was open from the late 1800s until the late 1960s, was also portrayed - with a spooky twist. (Many of the letters read referred to the Sea Monster rumored to be living near the shores of Lake Bluff.)

Lake Bluff transformed into a spooky "Ghostal Community" Oct. 27-28 for the annual Ghost Walk, hosted by the Lake Bluff History Museum. The walk featured 10 haunted stories from Lake Bluff's past - ranging from bootleggers and Al Capone in the 20s to a "Mad Men"-esque look into Lake Bluff's own Don Draper.

While we're working on a longer article about the Ghost Walk, check out these great photos from the event. Did they miss any of your favorite spooky local stories? Let us know in the comments!
