Remember the name Brede Baldwin. The 14-year-old Lake Bluff resident, who has been receiving national attention for his musical talents and songwriting skills, could be the next young superstar.

Baldwin, of the Brede Baldwin Band, has been performing since age 9 and writing his own music since 2012, collaborating with Brad Nye, according to his Facebook page.

Recently, Val Haller, a music blogger for the New York Times, wrote a story about Baldwin on valslist.com.

"Brede has a phenominal voice, perfect pitch, lots of confidence, and his songwriting (with Brad Nye) is impressive. His vibe is sophisticated - moreso than some 20 year olds I know. The juxtaposition of this young artist - and his grown up music talent - sets him apart. There's an authenticity about him. You can't see it. But I felt it when I attended their band practice that night. He's an old soul. The music's in his blood," wrote Haller.

Brede has a number of performance videos posted on YouTube, including one from an episode of the show JBTV.
