Lake Forest Falls to New Trier in State Field Hockey Final

Scouts’ Star Performer: This game did not end the way Lake Forest wanted it to, almost mirroring a 1-0 loss to New Trier in the 2009 State finals. However, several players did receive some good news prior to the game. Morgan Dever, Kelsey Adams, Katie Skinner, goalie Lina Trucco and Lauren Yarkony earned all-state recognition.
Other Notable Scout Performances: Lake Forest's defense was under attack for much of the second half and kept the Scouts within striking distance before giving up a late goal. Goalie Lina Trucco was supported by defenders Katie Skinner, Lauren Yarkony, Caroline Marwede, Amanda McMahon and Izzie Montagne.
The Bottom Line: New Trier struck first on a goal by Erin Petry in the first half, and Katy Weeks added the clincher with less than 10 minutes left in the match. New Trier collected its third straight State crown, and fourth in the last five years.
