All LFHS students and parents (freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors) are encouraged to sign up for/to update preferences for the LFHS E-Newsletter.  Important information for “Back to School 2012-2013” was sent by email in early August to those signed up for LFHS E-News.  All E-Newsletters are archived at http://www.lfhs.org/news/highlights.html#1213.  The LFHS Communications Department uses an E-News format to deliver important information from various departments at Lake Forest High School throughout the school year. Parent "sign up" is essential to stay well informed. Each school year, it is important to UPDATE your account so you can receive customized e-news as it relates to your student's particular grade level! Be careful to select the correct student class. We have added an "8^th Grade Students 2012-13, Class of 2017" category. Check the "Class of" year to ensure you are requesting the proper class specific information.

LFHS 2012-13 final Registration and Book Buy will be held August 20-22 at LFHS East Campus in the Commons & Student Cafeteria, 1285 N. McKinley Rd. Lake Forest, IL.  
A list of required books/pricing can be found at http://www.lfhs.org/news/book_buy_option.html.  The alphabetical sequence below is for all students regardless of class year. Please follow this alpha sequence. If you are unable to attend registration at your designated time, you may attend on Wednesday, August 22, during the OPEN time from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday, August 20: 9 am - 12 pm for students with last names I-MA; 
1 pm – 4 pm for students with last names Mc-R.  Tuesday, August 21: 
9 am - 12 pm for students with last names A-C; 
1 pm – 4 pm for students with last names D-H. Wednesday, August 22: 
9 am - 12 pm for students with last names S-Z; 
1 pm – 4 pm is open.

Thursday, August 23 is an Institute Day and there will be No School for students.

Friday, August 24 is Freshman Orientation Day from 7:50 am – 1:01 pm.
 Freshman Orientation is a unique opportunity for the Class of 2016 to get to know their high school without the crowds. The Freshman Orientation Schedule can be found at www.lfhs.org. 

Monday, August 27 is the First Day of School with all students.  Period 1 begins at 7:50 am and the school day ends at 3:10 pm.  The daily class schedule, early dismissal schedule, and late start day schedule for 2012-13 can be found at http://www.lfhs.org/news/daily_schedule.html.

Senior Directed One Acts Performance will be held on Saturday, September 1 at 7:00pm in the Raymond Moore Auditorium, LFHS East Campus, 1285 N. McKinley Rd., Lake Forest, IL. Auditions will take place on Wednesday, August 228/22 at 2:00 pm in the David Miller Theatre and are open to ALL students including Freshmen.  More information can be found at www.lfhs.org.

There will be No School on Monday, September 3 in recognition of Labor Day.

There will be a Senior Parent Seminar – a College Application Workshop – on Thursday, September 6 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the Raymond Moore Auditorium, LFHS East Campus, 1285 N. McKinley Rd, Lake Forest, IL.  There will be a recap of that meeting on Friday, September 7, at 9:00 a.m. (Location to be announced).  This recap of the previous meeting is offered for those who cannot attend the night before.
