Lake Forest Lifts Water Ban; Keeps Restrictions in Place

City reverts to odd/even watering days per resident address.

Lake Forest residents can return to using sprinklers and irrigation systems to water their lawn after a four-day water ban was lifted Monday morning.

However, residents are asked to adhere to a watering restriction from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily due to the continued drought and the forecast of no rain this week.

Between 8 p.m. and 10 a.m., residents may use sprinklers or irrigation systems on odd/even days according to their house address number. For example, if a resident's house number is 809 Smith St., that resident may water on an odd-numbered day from midnight through 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. through midnight. This rule allows for half of the residents to water every day.

These rules apply to the entire community, including homes, educational institutions, businesses and larger commercial sites.

If any non-compliance is observed, call the Department of Public Works at (847) 810-3542.

"Revert" means to "go back," so use one or the other, not both.
