Lake Forest High School product Matt Vogrich has been chosen as a 2011-12 Honors Court member by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) on July 10.
Vogrich, who will be a senior in the fall at the University of Michigan, was joined by Wolverine teammates Zack Novak and senior Josh Bartelstein from Highland Park.
Vogrich was awarded Michigan's Sixth Man Award earlier this year for his contributions to the Wolverine basketball team this past season. He averaged 10.7 minutes per contest, playing in all 34 games off the bench. He closed the season averaging 2.3 points and 1.3 rebounds per game.
The NABC award is the third academic award for the Maize and Blue trio, as all three were honored as Academic All-Big Ten and U-M Athletic Academic Achievement recipients after the season was completed. Michigan's trio of Honors Court honorees comprised half of the six Big Ten recipients honored by the NABC.
To be eligible for the NABC honor, a student-athlete must be a member of an NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA institution with junior and senior eligibility. The student-athlete must have matriculated for at least one year and have a GPA of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2011-12 academic year.
