Lake Forest High School won their playoff game against Lakes High School 23-21 on Friday night, in a tense game that came down to the last few seconds.

Highlights from the game include turnovers by both teams and stunning touchdowns by LFHS' #10 Andrew Clifford and by #3 Nick Giordano.

First time in about 19 years that the Scouts have made it this far! It is an amazing thing considering how big the schools are that we play in conference. It takes a lot of work by the players and support from the community to get here. The last games have been on cable and online with fans and alumni watching all over the US. These boys want so badly to bring a title home not only for the LFHS community, but to the community at large.
This was a huge accomplishment and the stands erupted as the Scouts won the game. After which they sang the LFHS fight song louder and with more jubilation than ever before. The # 10 ranked Scouts beat the #2 ranked Lakes team, not once, but twice this year. This was with out a doubt a great game and one which the press has taken notice of.

I echo the comment below. If "Mrs. H" were out in the community on Friday night, she would have seen the jam-packed parking lot at West Campus, the news reporters and photographers from various Chicago media, and the absolutely elated and proud looking faces of these young men after they beat a much higher-ranked team (#2 in the state) for the second time this year. Even without having been at the game, it certainly constitutes "breaking news" when a LFHS football team makes it to the State quarter-finals for the first time since 1992. It is also "breaking news" when a group of our student/athletes earn a victory that is not only noteworthy in the community but also such an accomplishment outside the community, that the highlights of the game are televised throughout Chicago only one hour later as part of the noteworthy high school football games in the state that evening. It is also "breaking news" and a source of community pride when any of our area teams do well. Well done boys! We are so proud of you! Thank you to Patch for covering this well-deserving "breaking news".
