District 67 Candidates:
Mike Borkowski: Borkowski has been in Lake Forest for over 20 years. Prior to becoming the primary care giver for his children, Mike earned considerable business experience working for Ameritech as a business manager, founding a startup business (which he successfully sold) and providing management consulting services helping distressed organizations to return to profitability.
He is currently a stay at home dad. He's married to Renee Borkowski with two children at Cherokee Elementary. He received his M.B.A. from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Business; B.S. in Industrial Engineering from University of Illinois. His civic experience includes District 67 Board of Education Finance Committee; President Board of Directors LEAD; Cherokee APT Board Member (Yearbook Chair & Parent Resource Chair), Chairman of American Cancer Society third-party fundraising event, Deerpath Golf Course Advisory Committee, Assistant Cub Master and Den Leader for Cub Scout Pack 48, 1st Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest Liturgist and Deacon, and Guest Speaker at Kellogg Entrepreneurial classes.
Beth Clemmensen: Has been in Lake Forest for 13 years. Prior to taking her current position at Trinity International University, Beth worked for 13 years in brand management at Kraft Foods in several senior marketing roles. Before joining Kraft, she was an Account Executive at Ketchum Advertising and worked in product management for Harris Bank. She's married to Christopher Clemmensen with one child at Deer Path Middle School (DPM) and one at Cherokee Elementary. Clemmensen received her M.B.A. from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management With Distinction; B.S. in Advertising from University of Illinois Magna Cum Laude. Her civic experience includes Cherokee APT Board of Education Liaison and Community Service Co-Chair, Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital Women’s Health Auxiliary Council, Spirit of 67 Home Tour Committee, District 67 Executive APT Board Visiting Author Co-Chair, DPM APT Student Council Liaison, DPM APT Board of Education Liaison, Cherokee Room Parent, and DPM Room Parent.
Jeff Folker: Folker has been in Lake Forest for 10 years. Prior to becoming a realtor, Jeff served as the primary care giver for his children after spending 23 years in Supply Chain, Customer Service and Sales management roles with such consumer products companies as Procter & Gamble, Kraft Foods, Diageo, ConAgra Foods and Barilla. He is currently a realtor with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Lake Forest. Married to Julie Currie with two children at Deer Path Middle School (DPM) and one child at Cherokee Elementary. Folker has his B.S. in Marketing from Miami University. His civic experience includes Cherokee APT President, District 67 APT Executive Board, District 67/115 Superintendent Search Committee, Lake Forest Baseball Association Treasurer, Spirit of 67 Board (Membership), DPM APT Board member (School Supplies Coordinator), Cherokee APT Board member (Room Parent Coordinator, Children's Publishing Chair), Lake Forest Parks & Recreation volunteer coach (boy's/girl's basketball, baseball, softball, flag football).
Robert Lemke: Lemke has lived in Lake Forest for 10 years. As an economics professor, Rob’s research interests have focused on applied micro economics. He has written on such topics as the economic benefits of education, teacher negotiations and the design and workings of the No Child Left Behind Act. He is currently an Associate Professor and Department Chair, Department of Economics and Business, Lake Forest College. Married to Andrea Lemke with one child at Lake Forest High School and one child at Deer Path Middle School. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from University of Wisconsin-Madison; B.A. in Mathematics, Economics from St. Olaf College. His civic experience includes District 67 Board of Education Finance Committee Member, President of Kendall United Methodist Preschool (Miami, FL), Treasurer and Den Leader for Pack 46 Cub Scouts, and Lake Forest Parks and Recreation Flag Football and AYSO Coach.
District 115 Candidates:
John Powers: Powers has lived in Lake Forest for 17 years. Prior to taking his position at Abbott Labs, John held management positions in sales and marketing at Kimberly-Clark Corporation, Technical Concepts and North American Corporation. He currently works as the General Manager, Managed Care National Accounts at Abbott. He is married to Robin Powers with one child at LFHS and one child at St. Mary's. He received M.B.A. from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management; B.A. in Economics from University of Missouri. His previous civic experience includes Vice President of Friends of Lake Forest Parks & Recreation Foundation, former Lake Forest Caucus Ward 2 representative, Planning & Development Committee Chair and School Advisory Council Chairperson with St. Mary’s School Advisory Council.
Steve Reimer: Reimer has lived in Lake Forest for 11 years. Prior to his retirement, Steve held various management positions in the communications industry last serving as a S.V.P. of Comcast’s Illinois, N. Indiana and S. Michigan operations. His responsibilities included Operations, Customer Service, Accounting, Marketing, Engineering, HR and Labor Relations. He is married to Deborahanne with one child at LFHS. He received his M.B.A. from Northwestern University; B.S. in Business from Western State College. His previous civic experience includes District 115 School Board Operations Committee, LFHS Boosters Club Assistant Treasurer, Board of Directors LF Baseball Association, Chairman Illinois Cable & Telecommunications Association, Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, Co-Chair Public Relations & Communications at City Year Chicago, and United Way.
Dave Schreiber: Schreiber has lived in Lake Forest for 23 years. As a consulting sales manager for Oracle, Dave has extensive experience in advising organizations (including universities and learning institutions) on their IT needs and operations. He's married to Jennifer Schreiber with one child at Deer Path Middle School and one child at Cherokee. He has an M.B.A. from University of Colorado; B.S. in Journalism from University of Kansas. His past civic experience includes former Ward 3 representative on the Lake Forest Caucus, A.Y.S.O. soccer coach, and captain of Winter Club paddle team.
