Obituary: Dr. Joan Zielinski
Dr. Joan Zielinski spoke five languages and taught marketing at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Dr. Joan Zielinski of Lake Forest, IL passed away unexpectedly at her home on December 13, 2012. She was born in New Bedford, MA and went on to receive her higher education from Emmanuel College, UCLA, & University of Sydney where she received her Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate degrees respectively. She was the Executive Director of the New Jersey Lottery and she taught marketing at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Zielinski was also a marketing professor at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University where she received numerous awards for outstanding teaching. In 2005 she led a very successful fundraising effort for the March of Dimes. She will always be remembered for eloquence and quick wit as well as her love for the arts and travel where she utilized her mastery of five languages.
She is survived by her loving husband of 18 years, Dr. Peter A. Alsberg and her two daughters, the pride of her life, Marisa & Sasha Alsberg. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart.
