Illegal Control of Cannabis, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving While Suspended, Improper Lane Usage

Alfredo Alfaro, 28, of Libertyville is being charged with illegal control of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while suspended and improper lane usage, according to Lake Forest Police reports. His bond is set at $150 and his court date is set for Oct. 16.

Alfaro was stopped by the police for improper lane usage, where the officer found that he had a suspended driver’s license, according to police. The officer said he suspected cannabis and found a smoking pipe inside the vehicle.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Failure to Signal When Required, Operating Uninsured Vehicle

Jerome J. Kriho, 51, of Hawthorne Woods was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to signal when required and operating an uninsured vehicle, according to Lake Forest Police reports.

The report noted that police stopped Kriho after an officer observed him changing lanes without signaling and swerving over lane markers. He admitted to drinking at a party and failed three field sobriety tests, the report said, and his breath sample found that he had a blood alcohol concentration of .148. Kriho’s bond is set at $3,000 and his hearing is set for Oct. 23.

Assault

Daniel W. Nicholson, 44, of Lake Forrest was charged with assault on Sept. 15, according to Lake Forest Police reports. His bond is set at $120.

Police noted that Nicholson was reported to have been in a verbal dispute with another male adult when he smacked a drink cup out of the victim’s hand. Nicholson’s hearing is set for Oct. 16.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Improper Lane Usage

Paul Struminsky, 57, of Lake Forest was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and a charge of improper lane usage, according to Lake Forest Police reports. His bond is set at $3,000.

Struminsky was stopped after police observed several lane violations due to weaving. Once stopped, police said he failed the field sobriety tests. He refused to perform a breath test at the scene or to perform breath testing after his arrest, according to the report. As a result, his driving privileges will be suspended for 12 months, minimum. Struminsky’s court hearing is set for Oct. 23.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

Robert G. Douglass, 65, of Lake Forest was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, a class two felony, according to Lake Forest Police reports.

Police said Douglass was stopped for expired registration and improper lane usage. He admitted to consuming alcohol, failed three sobriety tests and refused to perform a breath test at the scene or to undergo breath, blood or urine tests after his arrest, the report said. As a result of this, his driving privileges are suspended for a minimum of 12 months. His bond is set at $3,000. A court hearing is scheduled for Oct. 12 in Waukegan.
