Police Blotter: Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Battery, Illegal Control of Cannabis

Laura A. Henderson, 57, of Green Oaks, IL is being charged with battery, according to Lake Forest Police reports. She will have an administrative hearing on Nov. 14.
The report states that officers responded to a physical altercation at a residence. After speaking with the female victim, witnesses at the scene and Henderson, she was issued an administrative hearing citation.
Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol
Nathan J. Hyndman, 36, of Lindenhurst, IL is being charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, according to Lake Forest Police reports. His bond is set at $3,000, with an Oct. 23 court date.
A patrol officer found Hyndman asleep in his car in the parking lot of Lake Forest High School’s west campus, the report said. Hyndman could not recall where he was, exhibited a strong odor of alcohol and told officers that he had been driving from Waukegan to Lindenhurst. He refused to participate in field sobriety testing or to produce a breath sample once he was placed under arrest, police said. Therefore, his driving privileges are suspended for a minimum of 12 months.
Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving with a BAC greater than .08, Improper Lane Usage, No Insurance
Matthew R. Fradera, 23, of Gurnee is being charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood alcohol content greater than .08, improper lane usage and no insurance, according to Lake Forest Police reports.
According to the report, Fradera was involved in an accident on Waukegan Road after he crossed traffic and struck a sign and a fence. He had a strong odor of alcohol and appeared unsure of where he was. He was transported to Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital and then taken into custody, charged and released on bond. He refused to complete all the chemical tests required, so his driving privileges are suspended for a minimum of 12 months. His bond was set at $3,000, and his court date is Oct. 23.
Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (felony), Driving While Revoked (felony), Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Vehicle Damage over $1500, Failed to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
Joaquin Garduno, 36, of Waukegan is being charged with two felony counts – driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while revoked – as well as being charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident, vehicle damage over $1500 and failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, according to Lake Forest Police reports. His bond is currently set at $25,000, and his court date is set for Sept. 28.
The police report states that Garduno struck a parked car at the intersection of Western Avenue and Vine. He was found at his home a few hours later, where he admitted to drinking approximately 15 beers at a bar in Highwood earlier that evening, getting into the accident and fleeing on foot, police said. A breath sample found that he had a blood alcohol content of .124.
Illegal Control of Cannabis, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, DUI
Stacy M. Dierking, 20, of Crystal Lake is being charged with illegal control of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, leaving the scene of an accident and driving under the influence, according to Lake Forest Police reports.
Dierking was involved in a crash with a tree, according to police. She fled the scene and was later stopped by police in Highwood. Her bond is set at $100 and her court date is set for Oct. 23.
