The Montessori School of Lake Forest is one of the finest Montessori Schools in the country. In addition to a proven method that has been practiced for over 100 years, the Faculty and Staff are dedicated educators of the Dr. Maria Montessori method. In addition, the outdoor environment surrounding the school is unlike any other school setting in Northern Illinois. Located next to the Middlefork Savannah and nestled on almost six acres, children learn both in the classroom and in the natural setting of the school's outdoor learning and development environment. It must be seen to fully appreciate what this school has to offer families and their children from infancy through adolescence. This is a place very close to nature and all it has to offer to children.

Grayslake Cooperative Nursery School! Where parents get to be active in their children's education, regular field trips are taken, and the parent and child community are just wonderful. As an early childhood educator and involved parent, this preschool far exceeded all of my expectations.

My husband and I exhausted many local options when searching for the right pre-school for our family. The toddler environment at MSLF won our hearts. The teachers are caring and the classrooms are challenging. The classrooms are divided into several areas that touch on movement, senses and language skills. The teachers encourage practical life skills including care of ones self and for others in the community as well as care for the environment both indoors and outdoors. Our toddler has excelled in coordination, independence, self-esteem and confidence. We have been very pleased with our choice.

Five of my seven grandchildren are attending the Montessor School of Lake Forest. They started in the Toddler program at age two. My oldest grandchild is now 14 years old and I attribute her poise, independence, inovativeness, and strong sense of judgement to this fine education. I think MSLF has prepared, and will prepare, not only my five grandchildren, but all children who are attending, for the future.

Montessori School of Lake Forest all the way! We have four boys who attended the Montessori School of Lake Forest primary program and now our oldest attends Exeter Academy in New Hampshire while the other three are continuing their educations at MSLF! We are so pleased with the amazing head start that they received by beginning their education at MSLF and continue to see the benefit of educating the whole child. MSLF early education truly got our children off to the right start.

This is a wondeful school! The physical environment will take your breath away. There are a lot of great schools in Lake Forest (both public and private). Most of them do a terrific job of teaching the ABCs. However, there is no school in Lake Forest that teaches its children the highest levels of grace, courtesey and mutual respect like MSLF. I am amazed at my child's growth every day I pick her up from school. She loves to go to school and goes out of her way tell me what she has worked on each day. I am truly amazed by the social development of my child. Because os MSLF, she presents as a confident, powerful young lady.

Both my children attended Montessori School of Lake Forest from the start. They are now a thriving teenager and a young adult, eager and able to make places for themselves in the world, on their own terms but with respect and collaboration for others. They are excellent students, highly regarded by both teachers and peers without being either "teacher's pet" or "party animals." These are qualities they began to establish during their preschool years, when their teachers guided them with an intelligent combination of freedom and limits, with great respect for their developing personalities and abilities. MSLF is an excellent Montessori school, from its Parent Infant and Toddler Program, its Primary (pre-school) programs, through its Elementary and Adolescent programs. MSLF students thrive when they go on to traditional education because they are creative problem solvers and responsible citizens. College professors say Montessori students stand out in their classes. And to think, it all starts when they are happy, carefree preschoolers. Over and over again, MSLF's preschool teachers hear that their young students are disappointed when the weekend comes, because they would much rather be learning and doing in their school. All this may have to be seen to be believed, but it's really true!

MSLF has been our choosen school when my daughter began in parent-infant at 5 months of age! She is now 14 and still loves MSLF, and cannot think of any other school where she would want to attend. She, along with her other 2 sisters love to enter the doors every morning where they share the same inner confidence and love of learning along with their friends and teachers who value their opinions and respect them. You won't be dissapointed, just go and visit!!!!
