Unlawful Use of a Credit Card, Theft

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor

Four female juveniles, two 16 and two 17, are being charged with consumption of alcohol, according to Lake Forest Police reports. Their administrative hearing is set for Nov. 12 at City Hall.

The subjects were all passengers in a vehicle stopped for a traffic violation, police said. The officers located alcohol in the car and all four subjects exhibited an odor of alcohol. They all refused to provide a breath sample and were issued administrative hearing citations.

Unlawful Use of Credit Card (Class 2 Felony), Theft (Class 3 Felony)

Michelle P. Helt, 45, of Antioch, is being charged with unlawful use of credit card (class 2 felony) and theft (class 3 felony), according to Lake Forest Police reports. Her bond is set at $25,000 and her court date is set for Dec. 6 in Waukegan.

The report states officers arrested Helt on an outstanding warrant for unlawful use of a credit card and theft following a six-month investigation by detectives. Helt used a business credit card to make more than $10,000 in personal charges at retail and online merchants, police said, both prior to and after her termination from the business.

Theft

Sandra Rodriguez, 44, of River Grove, IL is being charged with theft, according to Lake Forest Police reports. Her bond is set at $130 and her court date is Dec. 18 in Park City.

Detectives took Rodriguez into custody for theft on Nov. 26 due to an investigation that began on Dec. 12, according to police. Earlier in the month, police said Rodriguez, a former employee of Wal-Mart, used credit card information of at least two victims to purchase gift cards from the store.

Driving Under the Influence, Failing to Yield to an Emergency Vehicle, Disobeyed Red Light, Improper Lane Usage

Richard T. Christoph, 54, of Lake Forest is being charged with driving under the influence, failing to yield to an emergency vehicle, disobeying a red light and improper lane usage, according to Lake Forest Police reports. His bond is set at $3,000 and his court date is Dec. 12 in Waukegan.

The report states that an officer observed a vehicle driven by Christoph pass through a red light at Route 41 and Westleigh, and weave into the officer’s lane. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle using his emergency lights and siren, however Christophe did not yield, and did not stop until he pulled into his home’s driveway. Christoph failed all three field sobriety tests and was taken into custody, police said. He refused all required chemical tests and, as a result, his driving privileges are suspended for a minimum of one year.

Driving Under the Influence, Speeding, Improper Lane Usage

Austin J. Mitchell, 25, of Mundelein is being charged with driving under the influence, speeding and improper lane usage, according to Lake Forest Police reports. His bond is set at $3,000 and his court date is Jan. 8 in Waukegan.

An officer stopped Mitchell on Route 43 for speeding and improper lane usage, according to police. Mitchell exhibited a strong odor of alcohol and admitted to drinking. He failed three field sobriety tests and later produced a breath sample with a blood alcohol content of .090.

Forgery (Class 3 Felony), Unlawful Use of Credit Card (Class 4 Felony)

Reginald L. Branch, 20, of Chicago is being charged with forgery (class 3 felony) and unlawful use of a credit card (class 4 felony), according to Lake Forest Police reports. His bond is set at $5,000 and his court date is set for Dec. 12 in Waukegan.

The report states that Branch was arrested after stealing a credit card from a victim at Lake Forest College Sports and Recreation Center and attempting to purchase more than $200 of groceries and five $100 gift cards.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor

Stefan Szarek, 18 of Chicago, Matthew Sron, 18 of Chicago and one juvenile, 17, are being charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor, according to Lake Forest Police reports. Their administrative hearing is set for Dec. 12 at City Hall.

Officers responded to Lake Forest College for a complaint of several subjects trespassing on school grounds, according to police. Szarek, Sron and a male juvenile were issued trespass warnings and escorted off of campus. All three subjects exhibited an odor of alcohol and admitted to drinking.

Prohibited Gathering/Social Hosting

Courtney L. Garth, 21, and Maeve K. Connell, 22, both of Lake Forest, are being charged with prohibited gathering and social hosting, according to Lake Forest Police reports. Their administrative hearing is set for Jan. 9 at City Hall.

The report states that officers responded to a complaint of a loud party and found Garth and Connell hosting a party where several minors were consuming alcohol.
