Meet the New Superintendent Wednesday
District 67, 115 Boards of Education host reception for Michael Simeck and his family.
School District 67 and Lake Forest High School Boards of Education will host a reception to welcome incoming superintendent Michael Simeck and his family from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday (April 4) in the Board Room at LFHS West Campus, 300 S. Waukegan Road, in Lake Forest.
Simeck will join the district on July 1, succeeding Harry Griffith, who is retiring June 30.
Simeck received a bachelor's and master's degree from Eastern Michigan University, and is completing a doctorate in educational administration at Michigan State University. Since 2007, Simeck has served as superintendent for the Berkley K-12 School District in Oak Park, Mich. He previously served as superintendent in Dansville, Mich. (2003-2007).
Simeck and his wife, Mari, have three children, Gabrielle (sophomore), Max (8th grade), and Lilia (4th grade). Mari is also a Fulbright Scholar and spent a full year in Paris as part of a Teacher Exchange Program.
