Whole Foods will soon begin selling “organic high end liquor” after the Deerfield Village Board of Trustees unanimously changed the company’s liquor license at its regularly scheduled meeting Monday to allow the sale of spirits along with beer and wine.
“We look forward to having a very limited selection of local organic and high end liquor,” Whole Foods’ Deerfield Team Leader Dan Gordon said. “It will be the same type we carry at other locations.” The Northbrook location on Willow Road already has the beverages.
The new products will account for less than one percent of Whole Foods’ business in Deerfield, according to Gordon. It will be shelved in the space already devoted to wine and beer. No additional floor area will be utilized.
