All of northern Illinois is under a wind advisory from 2 p.m. today through 5 a.m. tomorrow.
According to the National Weather Service office in Chicago, sustained winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour are expected, with gusts of 45 miles per hour. NWS officials advise that residents secure outdoor items.
