Art Exhibition Opening at Lake Forest College January 24

The 20th Annual John and Katherine Covington Memorial Exhibit brings Chicago artist Mark Booth to Lake Forest College for an exhibit which will open on January 24, 2013 and run through February 20. Booth’s works are interdisciplinary and include installations, drawings, paintings, texts, sound works and live performances. According to his artist’s statement, Booth presents his abiding interest in the complex interaction between language and image in his projects.

Many of Booth’s visual and sound projects explore visuality as represented through language. He believes that his oblique relationship to language and his interest in its material and semantic qualities stems directly from his experience as a life-long dyslexic.

The gallery opening will be on January 24 at 7:30pm in the Durand Art Institute's Sonnenschein Gallery on North Campus, 555 N. Sheridan Road, Lake Forest, Illinois. Free and open to the public. For more informaiton go online or call 847-234-3100.
