More About Sunrise Park and Beach
An expansive park right on the lakefront, Sunrise Park and Beach offers a sandy beach and great walking paths along a tree-shaded stretch at street level. A walk down a step path to the beach includes stopping points to sit and admire the terrific lakefront view.
Lifeguards are on duty for daily supervised swimming during the summer until mid August; after that point, lifeguards are on duty on weekends only through Labor Day. No unsupervised swimming is allowed.
The beach area includes a playground with equipment, two lighted shelters with fireplaces, and picnic tables with grills.
Following a successful restoration, Sunrise Park was named in 2004 as the Top Restored Beach by the American Shore & Beach Preservation Association.
