North Shore United Way (NSUW) Youth Board is partnering with Lake Bluff Middle School for the second annual Walk-A-Thon on Friday (May 25) at Artesian Park in Lake Bluff.
Students will be walking from 9:30-11:30 a.m., and again 1:30-3:30 p.m.
The event is part of Lake Bluff Middle School’s health and wellness week, “One Life: Live Well", a community-wide campaign to raise awareness surrounding physical, mental and emotional wellness.
Students will pledge to walk a specific number of laps around Artesian Park to help youth in crisis and encourage support from their friends and family members. Proceeds raised at the event will benefit the NSUW Youth Board. (see the attached flyer)
The NSUW Youth Board is a student-run committee based in Lake Forest and Lake Bluff. It was founded more than 20 years ago to help manage donations made in memory of Jean Youngs Baddeley, former United Way president of Lake Forest/Lake Bluff. Teachers nominate students, ages 12 to 18, for the Youth Board.
