Created in two phases starting in 2007, the purchase and development of Townline Community Park actually began in 1995 with the comprehensive park and facilities plan. The park was the first priority following the city's purchase of 30 to 40 acres in the Route 60 (Townline Road)  corridor. Community input provided the park amenities, and in 2002 residents approved a $6 million referendum to buy and develop the site.

The Townline Community Park offers valuable athletic field opportunities for community groups and a walking trail to boost the park's dramatic aesthetics.
