 as no respect of age\, wealth\, or rank &ndash\; it strikes people of al
 l economic\, social\, and age categories with equal frequency. The Lions
  Clubs of Illinois every year sponsor free hearing screenings for person
 s 18 and older and 10-17 years old with parental consent\, in communitie
 s all over the state. In line with their chapter\, the Lake Forest &ndas
 h\; Lake Bluff Lions Club is sponsoring a hearing screening on Lake Fore
 st Day\, August 1\, after the parade. The Hearing Bus will be at Market 
 Square from 1pm to 3pm to screen anyone interested free of any charge. T
 he club hopes this event will help protect the hearing of the public thr
 ough an early alert system\, and increase public awareness of not only t
 he problems facing the deaf\, but also the capabilities of the hearing i
 mpaired.\nClub President\, Craig Lepkowski said\, &ldquo\;Last year&rsqu
 o\;s event saw 26 participants take advantage of the free screenings. Si
 x people\, or about 25 percent\, were referred for further testing due t
 o the results of their screenings.&nbsp\; We are hoping to build on last
  year&rsquo\;s success and draw even more participants this year.&rdquo\
 ; &nbsp\;He added\, the screenings only take a few minutes and any perso
 ns who fail the screening are referred to hearing professionals for furt
 her evaluation and treatment.\nThe Mobile Hearing Screening Bus is made 
 available through the combined efforts of the Lions of Illinois Foundati
 on and is primarily funded by Candy Day donations collected by local clu
 bs.\nThe Lake Forest &ndash\; Lake Bluff Lions Club is made up of 28 mem
 bers and meets on the second Wednesday of the month at the Lake Bluff Go
