Malin Offers Assistance with Early Stages of Grief

Lake Forest resident Maria Malin of Lake Forest, a certified coach with a specialty in grief recovery and life crisis assistance, will be the guest speaker at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest, 700 North Sheridan Road.
Morning refreshments will begin at 9 a.m.
Malin, a bereaved mother who lost her 11-year-old son, Steven, in an accident in 2003, will offer the topic, “Seeking Lifesigns From Our Loved Ones,” and be available for a question-and-answer session and book sales/signing following her presentation.
Malin is the published author of the book, “When You Just Can’t Say Good-bye, Don’t – A Mother’s Personal Journey After Losing a Child”, www.movingforwardhangingon.com, a Chicago-based newspaper columnist, and a professional motivational speaker on the topic of finding hope, purpose and gratitude after life-changing loss.
Malin will also offer insight and coping skills to assist the bereaved in the early stages of grief.

This grand church, set picturesquely on the corner of DeerPath and Sheridan Roads, is led by Pastor Christine Chakoian. First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest has been giving back to the community for more than 150 years.
