DESCRIPTION:WHAT:&nbsp\;Ragdale\, the nationally acclaimed artist retreat
  located in Lake Forest\, offers monthly\, docent-led tours from June &n
 dash\; September for individuals and small groups. Groups of 10 or more 
 can also schedule tours throughout the summer with advance reservations.
  Located on the former country estate of Arts and Crafts architect Howar
 d Van Doren Shaw\, a Ragdale tour includes:&nbsp\; the recently restored
 \, historic Ragdale House\, visual artist studios\, exquisite gardens\, 
 an introduction to the Shaw family history and the artist-in-residency p
 rogram that accommodates over 200 artists/year.&nbsp\; WHEN:&nbsp\;Thurs
 days at 10am on the following dates: June 21\, July 26\, August 23 and S
 eptember 20.&nbsp\; Tours last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.&nbsp

 pportunities to see behind-the-scenes at an artists&rsquo\; residency\, 
 typically closed to the public.&nbsp\; Visitors can experience the magic
  of this 5-acre&nbsp\; site which includes two historic homes\, several 
 artist studios\, gardens\, and vistas of 50 acres of virgin prairie. The
  Ragdale House\, originally built in 1897\, in the Arts and Crafts tradi
 tion\, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It re-open
 ed in June\, 2012 after undergoing a one-year\, $3.2 million restoration
