Bus Loading Changes at East Side Train Station

Also today, get your tickets for Ragdale's Novel Affair and try out for the senior one-act plays.

Changes at East Side Train Station

Starting Thursday, buses will load on the west side of McKinley Road, south of Westminster in order to reduce congestion and "potentially unsafe conditions," according to a press release from the City of Lake Forest. And the city wants your feedback. Send your thoughts to Carina Walters, assistant city manager, at waltersc@cityoflakeforest.com or 847-810-3680.

"As part of the overall improvements that are occurring at the train station, including, but not limited to exterior and interior restoration of the station building, realignment of the bike path and installation of a bicycle shelter; a bus loading zone is being designated along the west side of McKinley Road, south of Westminster.  Commuter parking along Westminster in this area will no longer be permitted.  All buses will stage and load at this location in the morning and late afternoon.  No bus staging or loading will be permitted at other locations near the station.  A sidewalk will be extended along the west side of McKinley Road to allow bus riders to safely board the buses. Currently, bus staging and loading takes place on the west side of the railroad tracks along Western Avenue."
