Golf Tournament Could Bring $30 Million to Lake County

The BMW Championship will run through Sept. 15 at Conway Farms Golf Club in Lake Forest.

As 70 of the top professional golfers in the world compete this week in Lake Forest, Lake County could see a $30 million economic impact from those traveling to the area and visiting the county's restaurants, hotels and shops, according to the Daily Herald. 

The BMW Championship will run Sept. 9 through 15 at Conway Farms Golf Club in Lake Forest.

The event is expected to draw 125,000 to the area and the Lake County Convention and Visitors Bureau has been working with area communities, including Libertyville and Vernon Hills, to help draw visitors to area businesses, according to the Daily Herald.
