Jay and Darice Lovell, owners of Lovell’s of Lake Forest, will open a smaller and different restaurant next month across from Ft. Sheridan in Highwood, according to a posting on the restaurant’s Facebook Page.
The sign on the new eatery reads, “Jay Lovell’s” on the first line with “fresh, homemade, seasonal” below it in smaller letters. The Facebook page mentions that as well.
“We are just opening a second smaller restaurant along Sheridan Road across from Fort Sheridan,” Jay Lovell said on the eatery’s Facebook Page. “Fresh, Homemade, Seasonal. A New Restaurant.”
While Lovell’s of Lake Forest, known for its award winning and gourmet food, is open for lunch and dinner, the new restaurant will open at 7 a.m. for breakfast, start serving lunch at 11 a.m. and continue to feed customers through dinner, according to the Facebook Page.
The Lovells will bring the hamburger, pulled pork and Reuben sandwiches to Highwood and incorporate a southern flair as well, according to a story in Forest & Bluff Magazine. Some of the homemade dishes will include comfort food like chicken meat loaf and smoked brisket.
Fresh baked goods will be another hallmark of the new place, according to Forest & Bluff. Cinnamon buns will be on the breakfast menu and there will be plenty of pies including a happy hour for them between 3 and 5 p.m. The pies can also be purchased separately and taken home.
