Lake Forest Cancels Some Recreation Programs

Cold temperatures are bringing many activities to a halt at least through Tuesday.

The Lake Forest Parks and Recreation Department has canceled all recreation programs scheduled for Monday and Tuesday due to the cold weather.

Cancellations include programs held at the Recreation Center, the district area schools, the Wildlife Discovery Center, the Everett Park Room and Stirling Hall.

All LF Swim Club classes are on as scheduled. Visit www.swimlfsc.org for program updates or call (847) 735-5372.

Open gym is available to high school or older students, but middle school and younger must be accompanied by an adult. The Fitness Center will remain open and will offer its fitness-related classes.

Due to safety concerns, staff will not be at the West Park Ice Rink Monday or Tuesday; therefore the warming house and lights will not be available. The hotline number to check for updates is (847) 234-6702.
