Lake Forest Parks and Recreation Cancels Monday Programs, Activities

The recreation center will be available as a warming center Monday. The fitness center and related classes will remain open.

The Lake Forest Parks and Recreation Department has canceled many programs Monday due to the expected sub-zero temperatures.

Programs held at the Recreation Center, the district area schools, the Wildlife Discovery Center, the Everett Park Room and Stirling Hall have been canceled. Open gym has also been canceled.

Due to safety concerns, there will be no staff at the West Park Ice Rink and the warming house and lights will not be available. Call the hotline, (847) 234-6702, for updates.

The Fitness Center will remain open and will offer its fitness-related classes.

The Recreation Center will be open Monday as a warming shelter.  

Decisions about Tuesday's programs will be made Monday, according to the department.
