Lake Forest Recreation Classes Canceled for Tuesday

Frigid temperatures will cancel a number of programs for the second consecutive day.

Lake Forest Parks and Recreation classes have been canceled for Tuesday due to the sub-zero temperatures, according to the department.

The cancellations include programs held at the Recreation Center, the District area schools, the Wildlife Discovery Center, the Everett Park Room and Stirling Hall. 

There will be no open gym.

Due to safety concerns, there will be no staff at the West Park Ice Rink on Tuesday. The warming house and lights will not be available. Call the hotline at 847) 234-6702 for updates.

The Fitness Center will remain open and will offer its fitness-related classes.

All tennis Classes held at College Park Athletic Club will run as scheduled.

The Recreation Center will be open as a warming shelter.  

A determination about Wednesday's programs will be made Tuesday.
