Parents, Teens Invited to Drug, Alcohol Discussion

"Parents, Teens, and the Law," is open to Lake Forest High School freshmen and sophomores, along with their parents.

Lake Forest High School will host a panel discussion titled, “Parents, Teens, and the Law" from 7-8:30 p.m. Nov. 13. The program is for parents and their freshman and sophomore high school students. 

The annual event addresses alcohol and substance abuse and other information relevant to teens. 

Panelists will include Andy Duran, executive director of LEAD and SpeakUP!; Lake Forest High School Youth Officer Brett Marquette; Samantha Welch, a drunk driving accident survivor); and Judge Christopher Stride.

The discussion will focus on current laws, ordinances and the legal, academic and social consequences of alcohol, drug and social media use. Increased prescription and over-the-counter drug usage and drop off sites for unused medications will be reviewed.
