Teens' Essays Could Win Cash for LFHS

What does Veterans Day mean to you? The top three submissions will be awarded with donations to Lake Forest High School.

Lake Forest High School students are invited to enter an essay contest hosted by Lake Forest American Legion Post 264.

To enter, students should submit an essay or video entitled “What Veterans Day Means to Me.” The style and length of essay/media is left up to the student.

The creator of the winning essay or media project, chosen by the Post members, will receive $1,000 to donate to the Lake Forest High School club or team of their choice. The student will also be asked to read their essay or show their media at the Veteran’s Day remembrance on Nov. 11.

The second-place winner will receive $500 to donate and the third-place winner will be given $250 to benefit a club or team.

Entries must be submitted by email to kohara@lfschools.net and are due by 3:30 p.m. Oct. 23.
