Temps Jump More Than 50 Degrees Monday to Monday

Remember that extreme cold and snow last Monday? There's not a lot to show for it seven days later.

What a difference a week makes.

The mercury approached the mid-40s on Monday, bringing the air about 55 degrees warmer than it was this time last week.

And all that snow that was dumped on the Lake Forest area last weekend is melting away, as green vegetation — not to mention asphalt — returns to view. (See photo above.)

Snow showers are possible Tuesday, when the high temperature will hit 36 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures will slowly work their way back down as the weekend approaches, with a forecasted high of 20 degrees Wednesday, 34 degrees on Thursday and 19 degrees on Friday.
