Connor Ventling, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark E. Ventling of Lake Forest and a 2011 graduate of Lake Forest High School, participated in the fall 2013 Bates College Junior Semester Abroad program.
Ventling, who is majoring in anthropology at Bates, studied in Samoa through the School for International Training.
About 60 percent of Bates students study abroad, and Bates offers access to academically rigorous and culturally enriching study-abroad programs in more than 80 countries.
