Music Lessons Are About Much More Than Just Music

Music lessons for children have been proven to boost self-esteem and confidence. Find a teacher that compliments your child's personality and interests and LISTEN to how your child is feeling about the lessons. COMMUNICATE their feelings with the teacher so that adjustments can be made to better suite your child's wonderful, UNIQUE talents. If your child is leaving a music lesson unhappy, then you need to make a change. Children should be smiling ear to ear when they leave a music lesson. If they are not, ask why. Sometimes the problem can be as simple as changing a song they are struggling with or simply bored with.  Rock on and support your child's musical interests but don't force something that isn't working for them. There are SO many choices of instruments, genres, songs, instructors, programs, etc. Every child can find the right fit with their parent's help and support!
