Alpha Nu Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Contributes $500 to Lydia Homes

At their annual November shopping event at The Mustard Seed Fair Trade Shop in Lake Forest, Alpha Nu members shopped for holiday gifts. The proceeds of their sales (after paying the artesian for their merchandise—thus Fair Trade) the chapter contributed $500 to Lydia Homes, their choice of charities to benefit from their donation this year. At a time when our culture often seems to be coming apart, LYDIA is helping put families back together. Founded as an orphanage in 1916, it has become a successful alternative to state-run foster care and family assistance agencies. LYDIA’s faith-based approach to helping troubled families and children is unique, reaching people in diverse communities with a continuum of clinical and supportive services. LYDIA serves children and families in three Illinois locations (Chicago, Lyons, and Rockford).

LYDIA Homes Mission Statement:  "Strengthening families to care for children and caring for children when families cannot."
