Forest & Found Thrift Store’s Grand Opening a Success

Friday and Saturday, March 14th and 15th, Forest & Found—the art of charitable thrift, teamed up with artisans from the Lake Forest, Lake Bluff Artisan Guild for their Grand Opening.  If one would have walked in off the street, unaware that this event was taking place, they would have thought that they had mistakenly walked into a family reunion.  Friends and neighbors congregated around delicious and innovative finger foods provided by Rich at The Daily Grind in Lake Bluff as well as platters of fruits, cheeses and sweets from Lake Forest’s Fresh Market and Foodstuffs. The beautiful day brought neighbors and friends out from their long winter’s hibernation.  They got reacquainted as they shopped.  “A real sense of community was evident,” said the volunteers, also from the community. Audrey of Lake Bluff won our first drawing for a gift card to Jolly Good Fellows and Nancy, also of Lake Bluff won the Caputo’s gift card.  Drawing will continue for the next 4 weeks.

Forest & Found, located at 1363 N Western Avenue (last green awning on the right when traveling North on Western Avenue) is a 501 c 3 organization that has chosen Bernie’s Book Bank and A Safe Place as the recipients of their profits. We welcome donations during our business hours of M-S 10 am-5 pm at our convenient front or back door locations. Check out our website at www.forestandfound.com for information as to what items are accepted. Tax credit is given to donors. We can also be contacted by phone at 847-482-1705.

The volunteers are going to be very lonely without their new friends, the Artisan Guild ladies with whom they have formed a bond.  Watch for month “pop-ups” in our store, featuring local artisans.
