Save the Date for Preservation Awards!

You will soon see the Lake Forest Preservation Foundation’s signs around town marking past awards for individuals and organizations who have demonstrated a commitment to preservation of architectural heritage.

Gorton Community Center, 400 Illinois Road in Lake Forest, will be the site of the 2014 presentation of awards.  Our Sunday, April 27th meeting will begin at 2 pm. and will be followed by a reception for members at guests at Vallombrosa, an Edwin Hill Clark home. Fee for guests will be $10.00;  members are free. This was his second Villa built in Lake Forest.  This lovely residence, built in 1916 for Walter Kirk, is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and is carefully restored to preserve the dignity of its original architectureJ. Directions to the house will be given at the meeting.
