Spend the Holiday Season in Downtown Highland Park

This November and December, Downtown Highland Park is hosting an array of unique events and sales that capture the spirit of the holiday season. Whether you’re looking for terrific savings for all those on your list, or to spend some quality time making memories with your family, Downtown Highland Park has it all.

 

Welcome the holiday season to Downtown Highland Park on Saturday, November 23 during the City’s Annual Holiday Lighting Event from 3:00 pm until 5:30 pm where over 200 trees will be lit. Enjoy the sounds of holiday cheer from the Highland Park High School Marching Band and the Lake Forest Country Day School Choir, while watching Irina Makkai students perform the Nutcracker in the windows of Uncle Dan’s. Children will have the opportunity to meet Santa Claus and enjoy a fun scavenger hunt.

Downtown Highland Park's Winter Wonderland will once again transform the streets of downtown Highland Park into a nostalgic holiday movie scene on Friday, December 13 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Saturday, December 14 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Enjoy free, family fun activities including photo opportunities at the giant gingerbread house and gingerbread house making party at Port Clinton Square, live reindeer, horse drawn carriage rides, holiday carolers, s’more making, fire roasted chestnuts, French crepes, hot cider, fresh popped corn, and more! With over 100 merchants, shoppers are encouraged to come out to experience the truly unique shops, boutiques and restaurants that will be offering Winter Wonderland specials.

 

On Friday, December 13 HP Tops (667 Central Avenue) will be offering 20% off of your total purchase from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Come in and enjoy the savings!

 

The characters of The Nutcracker come to life at the North Shore School of Dance (505 Laurel Avenue). On December 15 the Sugar Plum fairy will host a tea party with treats, story time, dancing, games and a special performance by the Sugar Plum fairy and her friends. Tea times are at 10:30 am and 1:00 pm and cost $15 per child, register online today!
