Spooky Spirits Take Over the Y for Sixth Annual Halloween Party

The North Suburban YMCA once again invites the community for frightful family fun at its Sixth Annual Halloween Party on Sunday, October 20. The entire Y facility, located at 2705 Techny Road in Northbrook, will be transformed to provide a wide variety of Halloween activities suitable for all ages. The party runs from 2:00 to 5:00 pm, with exclusive early access for families of special needs children from 1:30 to 2:00.

The Y’s party has evolved over the years into a massive community event, with well over 2000 guests attending to explore the haunted houses, jump on inflatable bouncy houses, and shriek during the one-of-a-kind Spooky Pool Boat Ride. Young guests will also enjoy indoor trick-or-treating, seasonal art projects, a DJ dance party, facepainting, and age-grouped costume contests. Snacks and refreshments will be available for purchase.  Complimentary photo booths provide souvenirs of each family’s visit. Lead sponsors for the Halloween Party include Duxler Complete Auto Care, Humana, and The Northbrook Tower.

Virtually every area of the Y facility will be decorated for the party, a huge undertaking that involves dozens of staff members and volunteers. “Halloween at the Y has become one of the community’s most popular annual events,” noted Howard Schultz, NSYMCA Executive Director/CEO, “and every year we look for ways to make it bigger and better. It’s a great opportunity for families to see friends and enjoy some extra Halloween fun together.”
