Easter Services Abound in Lake Forest and Lake Bluff

With many churches in Lake Forest and Lake Bluff, there are numerous choices for local worshipers to celebrate Easter.

Some places will have sunrise services for Easter and others will have Easter Egg hunts for the children. Here are the Patch listings for the local churches with a listing of some of their Good Friday services. Complete schedules are contained on the church websites:

• Church of the Covenants will have its Easter service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
• Christ Church Lake Forest will start off with a 5:30 p.m. service for Holy Saturday and four services Easter Sunday. They will take place at 6:30 a.m., 7:30 a.m., 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
• St. James Lutheran Church will hold its Easter services at 8:30 and 10:45 am.
• St. Patrick’s Catholic Church has four Easter masses at 7:30, 9 and 10:30 a.m. as well as noon.
• Faith Lutheran Church celebrates Easter at 8 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
• Grace United Methodist Church will start its Easter at the beach at 6 a.m. Sunday with another service at the church at 10 a.m.
• The Church of St. Mary will offer Easter mass at seven times Sunday. Mass will be said at 7:30, 9 and 10:30 a.m., noon and 6 p.m. in its main sanctuary. There will also be services at 9 and 10:30 a.m. in the Lake Forest High School auditorium.
• Church of the Holy Spirit will offer service at 7:30, 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday. There will be an Easter egg hunt after the last two services.
• Union Church of Lake Bluff will worship for Easter at 10 a.m. Sunday.
• First Baptist Church of Lake Forest.
• The Community Church of Lake Forest and Lake Bluff will hold its Easter service at 10:30 a.m. at the  Lily Reid Holt Chapel at Lake Forest College.
• The First Presbyterian Church will offer Easter worship at 7, 9 and 11 a.m. as well as 5 p.m.
