  • Where/When: Wauconda High School, 555 N. Main St., Wauconda; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday (Feb. 26); 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 27).
  • Why Go: Wauconda Area Chamber of Commerce hosts two-day EXPO and community showcase. Event features craft show, live entertainment, exotic reptile show, dog demonstrations and more.
  • Pricing: Free to the public.

 

Aleks' Restaurant Features Live Jazz

  • Where/When: 525 Rockland Road, Lake Bluff; 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 27)
  • Why Go: Visit Alek’s for a Sunday brunch while enjoying the sounds of Jim Jacobs Quartet jazz band.
  • Pricing: Free to public.

 

Annual Skating Races and Exhibition

  • Where/When: Lake Forest College Ice Arena, North Sheridan Rd. and Maplewood Road.; 12:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 26).
  • Why Go: Figure skaters give an exhibition, plus competitions in ice skating, barrel jumping and hockey slap shot.  
  • Pricing: Free to the public.

 

The Citadel Theatre Company

  • Where/When: 300 S. Waukegan Road, Lake Forest; 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday (Feb. 25-26); 2 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 27).
  • Why Go: This proud member of The League of Chicago Theatres presents well known Neil Simon’s comedic play about relationships, Jake’s Women.
  • Pricing: General admission tickets $35, students/seniors $32.

 

College of Lake County International Film Series

  • Where/When: 19351 W. Washington St., College of Lake County Room A162; 7 -10 p.m. Friday (Feb. 25).
  • Why Go: Film Series presents, “I Am Love” (Italy, 2009), starring Academy Award Winner Tilda Swinton as a Russian bride who encounters an adventure of sensuality.
  • Pricing: Free to the public.

 

“Country Night” at The Cubbie Bear

  • Where/When: 21661 N. Milwaukee Ave., Lincolnshire; 10 p.m. Satuday (Feb. 26).
  • Why Go: Country Night: Buckley Road Band; seven-person ensemble performs a list of classic country favorites and southern rock songs.

Zanies Comedy Night Club Presents 10 Comics for $10

  • Where/When: 230 Hawthorn Village Commons, Vernon Hills; 8 p.m. Friday (Feb. 26); 7 and 9:30 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 26).
  • Why Go: Event returns by popular demand; 10 Chicago comics deliver their finest material. Comedy lineup runs the gamut of comedic styles.
