Community Corner

Grand Opening of New Nuestro Center

Family Service invites the community to the Grand Opening of the new Nuestro Center at 742-1 Sheridan Road, Highwood, on Tuesday, November 29, from 4-6 p.m. Please use free parking and shuttle service at the Ft. Sheridan Railroad Station.

The Nuestro Center was founded by Family Service in 1997 in response to the growing needs of the regional Latino community. Some of the services offered at Nuestro include ESL classes, health screenings, art classes, after-school homework club, computer training, and community-based summer camp. All this is possible because of volunteer and financial input from generous groups, individuals, and families, including supporters and volunteers from Lake Forest and Lake Bluff.

Family Service has offered professional support for positive change to Lake County families for more than 81 years. This past year, over 4,500 individuals and families across Lake County benefited from Family Service support and programs.  For information about the Nuestro Center Grand Opening or other Family Service programs and activities, contact Gail Hodges, Development Director, at ghodges@fsslc.org or 847-432-4981.
